The Historic Guadalupe Mission Manso and Piro Communities of Ciudad Juarez
Saturday, February 25, 2:00 pm, Free Admission,
Dr. Terry Reynolds, retired NMSU University Museum Curator, presents her archival research on the history of the Manso and Piro communities from the mid 1650s and continuing for two centuries.


Admission: Museum Admission is Free.
Museum Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm, Sunday 12 to 5 pm

Northeast, next to the Border Patrol Museum

2012 TEXAS MASTER NATURALISTS TRAINING

The 14-week annual training program to become a Texas Master Naturalist begins February 22, 2012.

Persons interested will be trained by experts in urban ecology, geology, botany, mammology, invertebrate biology, ornithology, archaeology, soils, climate and more.

Classes are held on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. at the El Paso Garden Center, 3105 Grant Avenue. (Map) There are also several Saturday morning field trips.

Time is short but applications are still being taken. To apply for this year’s class you can call the AgriLife Extension office at 915-860-2515 or apply online: http://txmn.org/apply/. The cost of the program is $125 to cover books and publications.

"Chart Your Course:
Planning a Successful Journey through High School and Beyond"

This workshop is designed for parents and their children (6th - 12th grades) to participate jointly to provide tips and information to help you plan for your child's high school and college career. These workshops focus on empowering parents to be their child's strongest advocate on educational and social issues.

The workshop will be held on Thursday March 1st @ 5:30pm at MYAC - free pizza provided!
